RIP Kurt
As most of you know Kurt Vonnegut died today from a head injury at the age of 84. He joked a few years back that he might sue the tobacco companies because their cigarettes failed to kill him (Vonnegut reportedly smoked Pall Mall cigarettes, unfiltered, which he claimed is a "classy way to commit suicide."). If you haven't read one of his books this is a good time to pick one up. My favorite was Cat's Cradle .

I liked the few of his books that I read, especially Galapagos, but I never made it through Cat's Cradle.
Wait, I think it was Player Piano that I didn't like. I looked it up just now, and is Cat's Cradle the one where the guy who figured it out ends up flipping off the sky? I think it is... I liked that one.
But my favorite was Galapagos.
That's Elenore's favorite too. I haven't read it but maybe I will.
As far as Cat's Cradle goes I don't remember that part. It's been over 10 years since I read it and only remember the chemical Ice 9
The Daily Show just did a little tribute to Vonnegut. Jon Stewart said the world got a little bit grayer. True that. =\
his first one that i read was breakfast of champoins, when i was 14. it was a natural progression from my moms copy of the catcher in the rye i had finished. it was the first time i realized that there were old (imagine that word in italics) books that were good (although when i think about it i had already loved a lot of old books: hobbit, lion witch wardrobe, etc). i think it was my fav by him, but i didnt read one that wasnt enjoyable...
kurt vonnegut is dead like this blog.
