RIP Kurt

As most of you know Kurt Vonnegut died today from a head injury at the age of 84. He joked a few years back that he might sue the tobacco companies because their cigarettes failed to kill him (Vonnegut reportedly smoked Pall Mall cigarettes, unfiltered, which he claimed is a "classy way to commit suicide."). If you haven't read one of his books this is a good time to pick one up. My favorite was Cat's Cradle .

Guilty Pleasure Bands

Rolling Stones Magazine recently released their list of the 25 Guilty Pleasure bands. This list definitely stuck a cord with me because I'm a somewhat "quite" fan of most of these groups (except Rush, I'll leave that to Scott). I've highlighted the bands I'm an ashamed fan of. However my big favs are New Edition, Wham, Hall n' Oates, STYX and America. So all you hipsters and music snobs better fess-up.
  1. 1. Rush
    2. E.L.O.
    3. Journey
    4. ABBA
    5. Chicago
    6. Boston
    7. Foreigner
    8. Bread
    9. Bon Jovi
    10. New Edition
    11. The Monkees
    12. Motley Crue
    13. STYX
    14. Eddie Money
    15. Simply Red
    16. Kelly Clarkson
    17. America
    18. Wham
    19. R.E.O. Speedwagon (Justin & I saw them at the Big Fresno Fair)
    20. Poison
    21. Lionel Richie
    22. Kansas
    23. Air Supply

Eddie, What Have you done for me Lately?

So last year I reported that Eddie Murphy and Scary Spice were an item. Well they have broken up (surprise, surprise) and yesterday Scary gave birth to a 5 lb 4 oz baby girl. The big question is "Eddie the baby daddy?" Here is what he had to say a few months ago about the baby.

Sources say Murphy was asked on a Dutch TV show this weekend if he was happy with the pregnant Melanie, to which he reportedly responded, "You're being presumptuous, because we're not together anymore. And I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir." Okay then!

Lyst: Are Lost and Myst connected?

I know that I've mentioned this to Ed before but every once in a while when I'm watching Lost I get the eerie feeling that I'm playing Myst. I've put some screen shots up that I hope will show the similarities. For those of you who have played the game, the similarities are striking and you have probably already noticed them(Like this guy) and this guy (Scott Johnson???). Well here are the similarities that make me go hmmm....

1. Both involve people winding up on a mysterious island
2. Both involve exploring the island to solve the mystery of the island
3. Both islands have mysterious
machines and pods set up around the island
